Tangier

The gorgeous city of Tangier in the North African coasts of Morocco is a vibrant city of narrow passageways teeming with excitement all the way into its port area that open ups into the Straits of Gibraltar unto the Atlantic Ocean.

Few realize that the name tangerine comes from Tangier from which the first tangerines were shipped to Europe.
Guests will enjoy a quiet stroll along the gorgeous beach front called Ave Mohamed VI to enjoy the biggest attraction in Tangier. Only in Tangier will visitors find locals enjoying games of football and windsurfing by the sandy shore as well as camel rides and acrobatics. In the evening there is plentiful Moroccan cuisine and cabarets in the bars and cafes on the seaside.

Another inviting locale is the Place de France, a tiny square right in the middle of the Ville Nouvelle with many friendly, inviting street cafè's serving mint tea, that could easily be right on cobblestone street on the European continent.

The ruined Teatro Cervantes, rue Salah Eddine et Ayoubi is a gorgeous sight of the glory days of Moroccan culture, on the way to the Grand Socco.

The Grand Socco square is where the city’s café and market center culminates for a sampling of local produce and wares as well as other bargain items. On the other hand, a visit to the Mendoubia Gardens in the surrounding area of the square is a calm and cool respite from the crowds of the marketplace. Few realize that the shade of the garden is produced by a banyan tree that's over 800 years old.

More adventurous guests can take a hike up to tcaves of Hercules are situated west of city in the region of Cap Spartel for natural beauty and pre-historic atmosphere.
